I’ll Get You
October 30th, 2009Being a band heavily influenced by the sixties, we have to do a Beatle’s song now and then. So here it is, the Breed performing “I’ll Get You” at the Cavern (Well not quite!) .

Welcome to the home of The Breed, Tasmania's hottest powerpop sensation. Stay tuned for news of gigs, disks and downloads.
"What is powerpop?" I hear you ask? It takes in any high-energy, bright, fun-loving rock music from British 60s Mods like The Who through to new skool punk like Green Day, and taking in a whole range of things in between, including (but in no way limited to) The Lemonheads, The Primitives, 60s US garage style and aggressive covers of the British pop invasion and Merseybeat. How's that for detail, then?

On Saturday 16th May 2009, the Breed had the chance for a gig in Melbourne. They appeared in the Great Hall at the Medieval/Gothic venue “Montsalvat” where they impressed all who attended with their performance.

Historic video footage of the Breed when they appeared at the Sheraton Hotel (Hobart) in 1994. They play a cover of the Aussie Beat classic “You Stole My Love” which was originally recorded by Mike Furber & the Bowry Boys. This footage has been synced to a demo of the song that was recorded by the band around the same time. This song is still featured as a crowd favourite in their current playlist. Thanks to Sharon Heritage who captured the event on camera at the time.
The Breed has just received a review on Turntabling.net a blog site devoted to the promotion of vinyl. Thanks very much for your nice review Joe.
